2010 changes

Some (maybe you C/K Man) have speculated that the new Duramax will be put in new trucks starting 1-1-2010 to meet the new regs. as 2011 models.

So like you said, the 2010 models will only run from Summer 2009 thru Dec. 31, 2009.

I heard this too. I cover a lot of miles June-October compared to the rest of the year so wanted my truck before that. Also, the LMMs have proved far more reliable than the Cummins 6.7 and Powerstroke 6.4 that I didn't want to risk the 2010/11 urea mods possibly ruining that.

This is exactly what Ford is doing, because their current 6.4L Powerstroke will not meet 2010 regulations. The 2011 Super Duty will go on sale in Feb. 2010. I wonder what changes we will see in the 2011 HD's besides the new Duramax and the restyled front end.

I heard its gettin' the 6.9 and the trans is changing too. But I won't believe anything until its unveiled. They are just trying to get public anticipation up so sales will be better.

Why it needs a facelift is anyones guess. They got the 07.5-09 GMC HD grille spot on, differentiates it from the 1/2tons and helps the D/A gulp down a lot of air.

Too each his own, but alot dont like the 09 bumper/grill. I bought 08 GMC solely because it's a little less goofy looking. GM needs to tone down the goofy stuff like bumper cheeks and giant wheel gaps (that dont even hold big tires) and build good looking, functional trucks.
If the 2011 doesnt get the front update pictured on jalopnik, I'll probably keep the semigoofy GMC till the make one I like.

I'm confused, the 08 has the exact same grille as the 09 GMC I have on order. Do you mean 07 or are you thinking of the Chevy?

I can respect your point of view but what I will say is that the big grille is as functional as it gets. The LMM runs very hot and its massive radiators need as much fresh air as they can possibly gulp down.

The bumper cheeks I think you're referring to are on the Chevy Silverado and I agree the front of end the Chevy is why I chose the GMC, though it's good to have the choice between the two.

Anyway, it's for sure good some people like the possible 2011 styling changes because it means GM will keep selling rigs.

I meant GMC vs a Chevy, not 08 vs 09.
I prefer chevy actually, just not the current model
