More like they inflated the price on your purchase and made it look like they gave you the same. I priced out 2006 and 2007 used Silverado's and Sierra's before I decided to go the new route. The 2006's were going anywhere from 30-35K which is 10-15K off original price (for a diesel). Even carmax had a crew cab with a short box for $30K and those guys suck.

Whaler22 how about the #'s I posted. Do they look inline? As far as the dealer owner is concerned he doesn't need to stand in the soup line but, I have to spend my dollars wisely. The truck has damn near everything on it. I will go to Edmonds.com in the morning. Thanks for all the good info. Can I beleive the "invoice" he shows me to be correct or is it an inflated price sheet? I'll have more questions I'm sure. Eric

But is that supplier price below true invoice? You can build a truck on the supplier website and get the supplier price. Guess I should build one beside it on edmunds and compare. I've got like 20 windows open from this website and one of them was a thread on this. Hope to find out more there.

I've had a dealer show an amount equal to what I paid for a vehicle I wanted to trade, but that was always accomplished by taking money from the "new side of the deal".

For example, in the Dodge truck example I provided earlier, instead of selling the new truck for $10,200 below the factory sticker, they could have sold it to me for only $5,200 below the sticker and paid me $5,000 for a box of saltines -- or overpaid me $5,000 for my trade -- it's all the same to them. They move money back and forth across trade-deals all the time.

Nope, I got my $56,000 truck for $50,180 and a $1500 rebate a very fair price and got exactly what I paid for my trade.

I have purchased many, many new vehicles and am not enticed by some dumb *** salesman trying to trick me.

I got such a good deal on my old truck that I signed the papers and left with it as fast as I could because I honestly though that they were going to tell me that they had made a mistake.

Dieselonly. Which price are you talking about? The $48,979? Or the other math I did? The truck is waiting for is in my sig. I honestly don't know what else I could have ordered on it. It even has dual alternators. By the way I like your name in your sig. Dieselonly. I wish I woulda thought of that. Eric

I think that $50,479 and a $1,500 rebate is pretty good.
