I had the recall performed at my local Chevy dealer. Now, I can’t find the cord. I will stop by and ask them where it was relocated.

I've seen some posts that they just cut the block heater cord off so you can't plug it in, as they didn't have a fix for the problem, but that was earlier this year...

Great News, got a text from my buddy who happens to be the service manager for my local Chevrolet Dealer. Fix is in, so get it scheduled. Mine is going in tomorrow for the repair. He said their may be issues getting more parts due to the strike. He got 19 of the parts in for the recall. Its a new heater and plug install. He is doing an oil change at the same time, he estimated 2 or 3 hours for the repair and oil change/rotate.

Certain 2017 - 2019 model year Chevrolet Silverado 2500/3500 and GMC Sierra 2500/3500 vehicles, equipped with the 6.6l Duramax diesel engine (RPO L5P) and optional engine-block heater cord, may have a condition in which the block heater cable function was disabled.

Repair Description:

Dealers will replace the engine block heater and cord.
