Yes, the grapevine says that in mid 2016, GM will release a mid year model Duramax with an incredible 3 more hp and titanium mud flaps (front only, rears to be introduced in 2017.5), causing all 2016 owners to become despondent and severely depressed, thus selling their 'old' 2016's for less than half what they paid in order to buy the newer version.

Classic - LOL.

I don't understand why GM is being so hush-hush on the updated duramax. They don't have to give out numbers yet, just a roundabout time frame.

Also curious on why they are waiting so long to to change it over, I mean, is it going to be THAT good?

I'm sure the new HP/TQ numbers will match the 2014 RAM numbers. GM's always late to the party.

And...... they still continue to dominate without turning up the wick. So what ever they do to the next Dmax will surly be impressive.

Which Heavy Duty Pickup Really is Best-in-Class? » AutoGuide.com News

The last paragraph in that article sums it up well,

Truly, this best-in-class battle really only has one loser: the consumer. It seems trivial that automakers are fighting over a few pound-feet. As if the process of buying a new vehicle wasn’t convoluted enough, shoppers are being forced to read between the lines to sort out for themselves exactly which truck is “best-in-class.”

As it is now, my 15 GMC LML is much more refined than then 12. No dead pedal and the power is smooth and linear and the regens are every 550-600 miles.

I hope GM keeps the power where it's at for the next 10 years.

Do you realize we have 765 lb. ft. of torque, STOCK!?!? What do these trucks not do that make them need more power? You have a very small percent of guys that haul close to or at GCVWR, and a small percent of those guys see long steep grades to feel that they "need" more power. The truck will still pull the grade just fine at a slower speed. So why crank out the power for all these trucks running around that never tow anything and don't even have a scratch in the bed?? Oh that's right, because having a big bad truck with the most of everything makes you cool and more of a man.

I LOVE power but at some point it gets ridiculous. The vast majority of trucks that I see around here have no gooseneck or fifth wheel installed and the paint on the inside of the receiver tube is still shiny.

they're not dominating GM is losing market share to RAM and has been for some time especially in the HD market. The late to the party catch up game is hurting them.
