I have had the same problem. No one seems to be able to find it. Once every 10 to 20 k it happens. Light in passenger comes on some times too. Lights in radio will act up also. Not enough to find or be troublesome just enough to be weird.

try checking the switch on the brake pedal. On my van the switch was sticking and close to being actuated when the brake was not applied. similar symptoms to yours. at times cc wouldn't engage or would disengage, only to work again after a very very light tap on the brakes. The cc switch on the brake pedal is a different switch than the one that turns on brake lights. also check the switch on the clutch pedal if you have a handshaker.

Mine did the same thing once about a year ago. Brake pedal switch, tapped the brake a couple times then it engaged just fine, never stopped, never shut truck off.

My Cruise control

My Cruise control did it twice in one day while driving down from Alaska right after I got the truck. I ended up pulling over and shuting down and then Starting up and it worked. Sort on Like rebooting the computer.

the problem is definately the switch on the brake peddle. No big deal, just tap it a time or two and cruise is back on. I think it should be worth a recall though!
