1996 1500 heavy half 6.5

started off the thread in the gmt400, this site seems to have a whole lot more going on it though for the 6.5s. would love to hear some input on stuff ive done or should do!

future plans: better tires, spacers on rear to level out the IFS, glow plugs, glowshift gauges, upgraded trans cooler, diff fluids, tail lights, repaint hood, full custom sound system, command start, fix door locks, OHC and compass mirror, dont really know what else.

wanted a project truck, mastered gas stuff, wanted to try diesel. started off with a 1996 6.5/4l80e/14b/4.10 heavy half. picked it up for 2200. had 365,000km. PO had no clue on anything with this truck, took it on trade then it sat in a compound until i bought it. he threw in 2 new batteries and i drove it 100km home.

first came ex-liner door creases down to cover up the PO's attempt at the same. new headlights. LED cube fogs and basic maintenance. finally cut and polished the paint as best as i could (can swap an engine, cant paint a car) kinda guy. love the minty interior on this thing.

today just finished up the idler arm and bracket and outer tie rod ends. regretting not doing the inners as well. tomorrow is balancer and pulley time, along with an alignment, after that. cruising for the long weekend in this thing... hopefully

harmonic balancer and pulley are now done, along with alignment. having a slow crank issue.... shook around the battery terminals and now its fixed.... so its going to need some electrical love i guess.
