I've had the identifiers out on some posts for a bit for the trans and diff.

Notta...

I'll be getting back to my dear 60 sometime next week. Very much looking forward to it ... will likely pull the trans next go around. Maybe. Time, time... It's all about that time...

I'm amazed to see a Scottsdale dash that's not cracked?

Amazing transformation on that rear diff. But with the engine upgrade, might be obsolete for your needs?

We had one of those in our fleet (box truck) way back when, but a bowtie.
We called 'er Nadine. Bent wheel shake and so much play in the steering, you couldn't stay in your lane over 40mph.

But I remember the steering wheel was different from what you posted. Larger diameter two hand-r to turn and much narrower, like pencil then.
Made it hard to grasp with the hands.

Thanks. It was... messy messy job!

That dash cover is likely going to get sold to someone who wants it. I like the metal beneath it more....

I'll cross the gearing bridge when I get to it.

Step one... make it run! Put the engine in and get everything working right.

Step two... work out the possible issues (like the rear diff gearing)

And somewhere in the middle of those two I'm pulling the cab for restoration. Lots of welding, metal shaping etc... gotta be NIIIICCCEEE

Cost Effective Powerplant

So I'm going with the 599 block for the powerplant for now. Id personally like the IH t444 BUT... I don't want to spend that kinda money on it right now. So...

Progress. I've been collecting missing parts and items for said engine. A cool guy I know supplies me with parts that id otherwise never ever find down here.

...progress... one day at a time.

...good times.
