2004.5 wiring harness compatibility

I had squirrels move into my truck last month while I was in the hospital. They chewed through the wiring harness in many places. The a/c sensor and alternator are chewed off at the plug. Other connectors in that area were destroyed. Many of the wires in the big clump that goes over the intake were cut.

I didn’t know, started it, it sounded like only one or two cylinders were firing so I drove it inside to investigate. What a mess!

Question - where can I find all the harnesses I need? Local dealer tells me 99-04 is no longer available, but mine is a LLY truck, so I think they are confused.

Next question - will a used harness from an 06 work? I guess there is a main harness, an injector harness, and possibly another one? I have no idea what to even look for!

Any assistance/guidance is greatly appreciated. Like many of you, loss of my truck shut down my entire operation - so I need to get this fixed!

I don't know for certain, but an LBZ harness might create its own headaches for you as many things change from year to year, even within model years.

DuramaxTuners.com (out of Illinois I believe) have a strong YouTube presence and are very helpful.

I have a Banks tuner on my LLY that is giving me some random DTC codes and Banks did not even have the courtesy to respond to my emails.

So I sent an email to DuramaxTuners.com on that same issue and within 24 hours they were back with a reply explaining what to do, and I had never done business with them before. They tune, repair and rebuild Duramax trucks and may well have a source for what you are looking for, maybe even some wrecks/parts trucks sitting around they can scavenge what you require.

Regardless, they will have been where you are before and may well be able to help you out. Good Luck!
