Information on South America Spec Chevy s10 diesel

Hi All,

I am thinking of buying a 2002 Chevy s10 with the Maxion 2500 diesel engine. The engine is actually a re-branded Land Rover 300TDI. It is a pretty neat rig, but I am concerned parts and information availability. Anyone spend time in Latin America or Brazil with these trucks?

For example I have the following questions:
1) It has a 5 speed, any idea what transmission? Is it a Land rover tranny and transfere case or GM.
2) Where can I get non engine parts - Body and suspension. The body is a crew cab, but panels are different than North American S10.
3) Technical manuals - Haynes or other - in English.
4) Parts cross references with NA models?

Thank you!
B

Are you going to be using it and trying to maintain it in the USA?

No idea but I doubt you can license that in the US unless it meets our emission standards.
