5.7 olds diesel piston rings

hi guys, iv been on here before but somehow i cant log in to my old account, anyway...im having a pretty hard time finding rings for my olds diesel im trying to rebuild. this is the main problem that is keeping me from pursuing this project. im wondering if anybody has a set of standard rings i could purchase or if a set of gas olds rings will work or anything... I NEED HELP!!!

also this will be my first engine rebuild, and i found a set of rings that matchs the diameter of my piston but it says they are .030 over...how could they be the same diameter if those rings are "larger"?

Ebay should have std sized rings for that engine.I've seen them many times.I'll have a look if you can't find them.

thanks for the reply, and i tried to search ebay, maybe im just not good at it because all i have been able to find is .020 and over...i did find a kit for 400 but that comes with rod and main bearings and everything and i dont need that just yet

I found a set using Google.Type in total seal S0165 which is a standard sized set.They are selling for $211.Ebay has them with summit racing but they are $360.I found the $211 set through Google search.Just scroll down and you'll find it no problem.Let me know if you need further help.

They'll fit no problem.I've used total seal rings in both of the olds diesel applications I have here at home.One was std sized and the other is .030 oversize.They are gapless rings.The 2nd ring is machined all the way around so a thin rail fits into it blocking off the end gap eliminating blowby.Just make sure you ask for the standard size because there is S0165,S0165-.020 and so forth.
