2005 suburban fuel tank fix

Just bought a 2005 suburban LBZ from CSK. I wanted to build one myself but life and kids got in the way. My wife will be driving this also so I want to get the fuel gauge and pump working better. Travis connected a toggle switch under the hood for transferring fuel from the rear to front tank. It looks like the fuel gauge is only reading the front tank. Unlike everyone else I have HP tuners and not EFI live. It does look like I can change items in HP tuners for the fuel gauge but I do not see anything for the transfer pump. One other thing I see is that after I have used 5 gal from full my gauge goes to 0. Then at 10 gal used from full then it will come back to full. It does sit at full for a long time. About half the tank. Is the front sender bad or is it not setup right in the engine control module?
Has anyone out there use HP tuners to fix the dual tank setup?
Do I need to add the rear sensor wire to the diesel engine control module?
How are people doing the transfer pump? Is it a manual thing or engine control module controlled?
I have been searching but I have not found all the detail yet.

Sounds like there might be a bad spot on the sender,

Best way to setup the fuel system in my opinion is to go back to factory... First you need to find out what all was done to the system, remove the transfer switch, and program with a file from a C & C.

I use EFILive I'm sure you can do it with HP tuners, it'll just be harder for you to find a useable file

From what I was told the primary fuel level arm was bent to accommodate the fuel tank height and switch was put in for transfer tank. Not much was done.

Where do I find the rear fuel tank sender wire? What pin on on the Engine control module do I wire it to.
I when over to the hp tuner forum and looked for a stock file. I found kodiaks. I downloaded a 2006 and a 2007. the 2006 looked like a single tank but the 2007 look like a dual tank. were the 2007 a lbz engine or a lly? Does it matter?

2007 could be an LBZ(called an LLY for MD use), or an LMM. Also keep in mind you will need to do a segment swap if using a MD cal file instead of one from a 3500 cab and chassis truck. The DURABURB tune I use was built up using 4 different tunes, one of which was a 4500 KODIAK for the fuel system segment. If you had EFILIVE you would be a quick download away as I have my DURABURB file hosted on another site.
