computer trouble?

I have a 2016 K3500hd lml. It went to the dealer for the def heater replacement. Got it back and a day later got the service def and restricted speed message. It has been at the deal for 2 weeks and they say everything checks out and they cannot get the speed warning to go away. Any ideas? They have been in contact with gm and are considering asking for a new computer. The def fluid passes test and all components do. thanks Cass

You probably would need to post the exact codes being generated to get accurate ideas on what the problem might be...but maybe somebody who has one can help you without the codes.

Service def and restricted speed message. Could be a lot of things.
Like said above, codes will help diagnose.
If Dealer can’t get the speed warning to go away it’s either two things, they don’t know what there doing or bad ECM
The most obvious would be low Def without knowing codes. Everything else would be a guessing game.
I’m sure they have checked both 1, and 2 NOx Sensors.

As you can see codes are important.

they need to do a forced regen

then go into each DEF tank heater circuit and ''cycle each heater for 10-20 secs''

then clear all codes

then fill the DEF tank to the tip-top and reset tank level sensor

After replacement, steps 5.2 & beyond are required...here -> https://gm.oemdtc.com/3642/exhaust-f...-chevrolet-gmc
