Fuel Mileage 2016 LML

What is everybody getting for fuel mileage on their LML's? Around town and Highway (70mph)? And what mods do you have. I average 15/16 on the highway and 12/13 around town.

The truck is a 2016 Silverado LML 4 Door LTZ
4" Flo Pro full straight exhaust
WC Fab full y bridge kit with air intake
WC Fab 3" Down Pipe
Exergy Performance 10mm CP3 Pump
PPEI Tunes and T87 Tunes

6" Rancho Lift
Stock 20" Wheels
35" Toyo Mts

I get 20-21 (on the dash) on the highway at 75mph and 18 or so hand calculated.
I get 16-17 (on the dash) in town (50/50 highway / city) and 15 or so hand calculated on my 16 LML. I run Michelin Defender LTX M/S in the stock size (265/70 R18) at 60# front and 70# rear and have a tonneau cover.

I consistently get a couple mpg better on the highway than the 04.5 LLY did. In town and towing about the same.

On a 800mile jaunt from oregon to montana that we do quite frequently on the LML I consistently get in the low 19's hand calculated. the 04.5 rarely broke into the 18's. And we drive 5 over the limit. Limit varies from 65 in oregon to 80 in montana.

Best I got was almost 25 on that trip. How? well I was driving a big U-haul truck at 60 DW was following in the truck. reminded me how much I hated the 55mph limit during the energy crisis. yes mileage was way up, speed is a drag!

In town is in the 13's, towing varies between 10-12 depending on terrain. and towing we generally tow at 60 on secondary roads.

This is another of those which oil should I use, what tire should I buy threads. There are many, many of them and fuel mileage depends upon the load, the driving conditions and most of all the driver. Take everything you get here and average it. That might get you close.

I am a little amazed at the low highway mileage most give which should be a clue about how much this varies. Mine, hand calculated, driving the interstate across country using the cruise most all of the time is around 19-20. In big city driving 13-16 very best. Pulling the trailer 8-12 depending upon mountain climbs and flat land. Wind behind me or head on.

I agree. My mileage is similar to yours. the "city driving" is an area where one persons city driving vs another can vary a great deal. Is it a few miles of stop and go or is it a 20 mile commute mostly on highway? Do you use remote start to heat the car in the winter or cool it in the summer? or something in between. all will affect average mileage a great deal.

Heat is not a problem here (Arizona). I seldom use it to warm up the vehicle. If I use it in the summer it is just a few minutes as I am walking across a parking lot. It cools down pretty fast inside.

I bought my truck to pull my camper and do what trucks do (haul things). Mileage varies considerably on wind, speed and load. I use Excel to record my mileage and other costs. As you can see we don't put a lot of yearly miles on. The DIC mileage never agrees with the hand (Excel) calculation.
6862 13.9 1567.14 0.2284 38142 19.9 9.9
Miles this yr Avg MPG T/Fuel/Cost Cost/Mile Total Miles Best MPG Worst MPG
This was a copy from my Excel spread sheet it did not format right here, but you should be able to figure it out. No lies here, actual numbers.

I just did a 2500 miles round trip from Az to Tx and got 16.7 mph hand calculated, it was just the family and a few bags, so empty. I was not impressed but we where moving, the speed limit in West Tx is 80 mph.
