I agree, but it has happened with 3 different GM dealerships over my last 2 trucks. The last was a coolant smell on my 2016 LTZ 2500HD Duramax. The had it for 2 days trying to find the leak. The found a seam leak under the top passenger side mounting bracket and replaced the whole radiator. I had to add coolant 4 or 5 times over the next 2 or 3 weeks, but have not added a drop since.

I am unfamiliar with what a lift system is for filling the coolant on these trucks but I will say since picking the truck up I have had no issues. Coolant is at acceptable levels. No leaks observed. No messages popping up on DIC and SOMEHOW I have gained like 3 mpg on average.... very odd.

Looks to be some type of coolant crossover or block off plate? Guess I have nothing to worry about, for now....

Any input greatly appreciated!
I live in the Albany area too, what spealership repaired it?

I went to put my plow on a couple days ago and noticed a coolant smell...sure enough, low coolant light goes on this morning. Just hit 49K miles on my '15. I'm assuming this would fall under the 5yr 100K mile powertrain warranty??

I went to Capitaland Motors in Glenville...they do GMC and Subaru. I'm honestly fairly pleased with them as a dealership and service center. They are much smaller scale than any of the others around here, and quite frankly the clerks at the window are more knowledgeable than the service manager himself. But all in all, after buying 5 vehicles here and the couple service appointments I've made and repairs being done I've been happy with them overall. They definitely aren't quick though. Seems like they're over booked for their size. I'd assume any cooling system issue should be covered under powertrain yes but don't quote me on that.

Low coolant message popped up twice today when starting the truck cold. Went away on its own after a minute or two running.. I did not dismiss the message. Should I toss some coolant in or take it back to dealer?

I'd toss coolant in it and monitor it closely. May just be another air pocket. If it shows again, back to the dealer.
