LML/LGH both available in 2500HD per Ordering Guide???

In viewing the 2011 online ordering guide under the Chevrolet 2500HD it appears both engines are available. When they say the prices on the 2011's are going to be the same as the 2010's, I believe this will be based on the standard diesel will be the LGH and the optional will be the LML. I think I am reading the guide correctly? I saw this before but missed it. I purchased my 2010 on 12/30/09. Hope I did the right thing????

I was Told by my Dealer that the price is remaining the same on the new motor. GM was initially telling them (dealer) it would cost 3-7000.00 more for the new engine.

My dealer is a friend..... I said i want one anyway.....but i did not think they could afford to do that.....especially when the "buzz on the street" was that Ford was holding pricing.....

Gm is holding pricing, i can all but guarantee the new engine/trans won't be seeing any rebate offers like the rest of the line.....anytime soon.....especially if 2012 models do not see any signifigant changes.....

my $.02

The LGH is for van applications only. The LML is for pickups. There is no "base" diesel engine.

The LGH engine is for Express/Savanna AND for Silverado/Sierra chassis cabs. It applies to 2500s as well since they can be ordered with ZW9 pickup box delete, such as for a typical service/utility body truck.

The LGH is rated at lower outputs than the LML. LGH peak numbers are
335 HP @ 3,100 rpm
685 lb*ft torque @ 1,600 rpm

Interesting that the peak HP occurs 100 rpm higher than in the LML, huh?

Incidentally, the gas engine side has the same lower power output for cab-chassis than for pickups, but it is labeled with the same RPO either way, except for 2010 model year when pickups got the new L96 and cab-chassis got the old LY6. 2007-2009 model years were all LY6, and for 2011 model year they're all L96. But for any year, outputs are higher for the pickups.

For the 2010 model year, the numbers are
LY6: 312 HP @ 4,400 rpm; 373 lb*ft torque @ 4,400 rpm
L96: 360 HP @ 5,400 rpm; 38- lb*ft torque @ 4,200 rpm

The same engine speed is the peak for both torque and power on the 2010 LY6?? Goofy, huh? To me that is evidence that the output is being very "artificially limited", if you know what I mean.

For 2011, the cab-chassis version of the 6.0L, now called the L96 as well, has been bumped 10 HP to 322.

See, the gas side is more confusing than the diesel!
Anyway, getting back to 2011 diesels, if your truck has a pickup bed, then it is the LML. If it does not have a pickup bed, then it is the LGH.

Official pricing has been released for the 2011 HD trucks. The LML and LGH are the same price, and they are also the same price as the 2010 LMM. MSRP is $7,195 for the engine plus $1,200 for the Allison trans.

Upon reading the 2500 HD guide closer it does have a little carrot that states the LGH option must have " Pickup Bed Delete". My 2010 sticker was around $50,800 although I got it for invoice since it was classified as a "demo" by the dealer and I also got a $1000 rebate and took the $500 no return guarantee and also used $1500 GM Points on my card. I think it was a pretty good deal??? I was assuming there was going to be a big increase in price for the 2011's. Everybody cried wolf and I ran!!!

Marmar -
Yeah, any time you buy a new vehicle for invoice that is a good deal, even if it is a demo. It probably didn't even have a whole lot of miles on it, did it?
The only thing that seems fishy is the rebates. At least here in the North Central region, the base rebate that applied on 12/30/09 (the date you said you bought it) for a 2010 Silverado HD was $2,000, not $1,000.
Maybe you don't live in the North Central region (most of Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Iowa) and the rebate was different in your region. Usually, these days, the base rebates are the same for every region though. Usually.
