Front IFS

What up front has changed to make it have a higher weight rating? Also, will new front end stuff be able to swap over to an older truck?

different torsion bars, much stronger control arms, stronger frame, stronger control arm mounts, dual jounce bumpers, stronger shock towers, bigger/stronger spindles, bigger wheel bearings... think about it, they went from a 4,800lb front axle to a 6,000lb front axle...HUGE jump.

....EVERYTHING basically is different. I doubt it will retrofit onto the older frames, but I guess its worth a shot.

When are you putting one in your truck so we can stop hearing about how unhappy you are that your truck currently doesn't have one?

I don't know about anyone else but I a little excited to see these come out. It's a shame that GM fell on hard times because I'd be interested to see what GM left out that they wanted to add.

I agree!!!! I would love to know myself.

As for the IFS haters, they need to move on to Ford, they'll be back in plenty of time.

I know that the article stated that they redesigned everything but... What about the tie-rods? They appeared a little, I mean a little, beefier then before....but....

Solid Front Axle

For all u guys that whine about Gm not having a solid front axle. Maybe u should check out some heavy duty Osh Kosh trucks, they seem to mostly all have independent suspension.
