From what I have read so far they may be using 8 gallon tanks. Urea will sell for about $2.75 a gallon.... I can see a lot of guys just peeing in the tank.....

Apparantly there are sensors that can tell if anything other then urea is in the tank believe it or not.

Fuel economy and power should improve with urea SCR. These engines will run cleaner with less EGR, and the urea system will not cost any power or fuel economy. In a diesel, EGR robs horsepower and m.p.g..

That said, will the LML have an EGR?

One of the major reasons why the fuel economy has improved is GM's claim that the interval between regenerations has been extended by 75% due to lower soot accumulations with the new emissions system. Regen uses extra fuel, so the savings go towards improvements in mpg.

Yes it will have EGR. It sounds like it should get better fuel mileage than the LMM. Time will tell.

The description of the GM system indicates less exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) than in the 2007 thru 2010 models because the urea treatment eliminates a lot of the NOX which was dealt with by EGR on the 2007 thru 10 models.
