94 GMC c3500 hd 6.5 no start

Long story short I bought this truck not running according to the seller truck was blowing black smoke no Throttle response he changed the gas pedal. And would not start back up. S o I bought this not running. Any how I changed the pmd and noticed it wasn't getting ground on the pmd (no fule )added a ground wire now getting fule. it wants to start. To the point it kicks out the starter out and that's as far and it gets. Glow plugs are working I also bypassed the fuel shutoff solenoid. I have to be missing something. I have to be missing something for this thing not to run. 🤔🤔

Welcome to DieselPlace

First, be sure the starter has the support bracket in place.
If it does not do not attempt to start it till you have a support bracket in place.

Go through all grounds using this link for reference:
https://www.dieselplace.com/forum/sh...d.php?t=163087

Perform a lift pump test:
https://dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=39350
If it fails the test replace the lift pump and OPS ( Oil Pressure Switch) as a matched set.

If you still experience no start after those checks then apply a jumper to the lift pump:
https://www.dieselplace.com/forum/63...ml#post6784033
This will help force prime things.

If that does not work then remove the glows and crank the engine over for 10 seconds and let rest for 5 mins. ( repeat this till you see a fuel fog from the glow plug holes).

Once you see a fuel fog then install glows and attempt to start

What is the pressure on the lift pump. I know the lift pump runs off the Oil sensor. Witch I'm going to bypass. I did buy a facet lift pump but its pushing 9 to 11.5 psi 33pgh witch I dont know if the 6.5 can handle. What are your thoughts on this.

Do not bypass the OPS. You can add a relay to take the power load off of the OPS.
The OPS relay mod is listed within the FAQ at the top of the 6.5L section in red.

I have an AirDog fuel-air separator that puts out 12psi+ I keep it around 10-11psi.

The DS4 can handle those pressures.

You should see about 1/2 pint of fuel in 15 seconds from the T valve.

Also, make sure your PMD has a resistor installed.
If your PMD is relocated try disconnecting the PMD from the extension harness and connect the PMD to the OEM harness on the IP.
This will rule out a bad extension harness.

The Solenoid would cause a performance issue only.
It would not have anything to do with a no start situation
