ABS tone rings....

so i need new half shafts
my truck has ABS (its a K2500)
but no tone rings on the shafts... wtf?
i have an 8 lug ... is the reluctor in the spindle housing?
i dont have any ABS codes thowing and it seems to work?
i never thought about it the thousand times i have had this thing apart
and what half shaft am i suppose to buy... all of them seem to have tone rings
its just weird

The reluctor is part of the hub assy.
Don't trust the photos, there are no tone rings on the half shafts.

oh one other thing
i have 8 lug but my half shafts have a full circle flange
all the 8 lug shafts i have seen have ears instead
does that matter?
