Glow plugs thread all way in

In my final stage of the 6.2l turbo conversion using 6.5 heads with factory turbo / manifolds. I came across a 6.5 parts motor with what I was told had rebuilt or new heads. They do appear to be new.

So now installing glow plugs 90g's and they thread all the way in till they bottom out. Am I missing something? I thought there is supposed to be a tapered seat in the head?

Thank you for responding. On the 6.2 heads that I removed, the glow plugs don't thread thread all the way in and bottom out like on the 6.5 heads I have.

On the 6.2 they thread down a little over half way down the threads than seat. On the 6.5 heads I have they thread till they run out of threads and the nut bottoms out against the head.

Is that normal to run out of threads till the nut bottoms out against the head?

Also, what part number are the new glows plugs? A pic of the old vs the new side by side would be helpful.

Its hard to tell, maybe I can put a feller gauge to see if there's clearance against the block. I measured the taper seat in the head and the plug definitely needs to be tightened in all the way.

90G is not the correct glow plug for this engine. 60G is. Perhaps the heads are some really cheap chineese knock offs. Some chineese heads are poorly cast and poorly machined. Some are ok.
