no start

I have a 97 chevy 2500 6.5 TD. I hit black ice and went off the road through a pretty large snow bank. The engine never stopped. I got pulled out through the snow and drove home about 10 miles. Truck ran fine. I shut it off and when I went to start it a week later, no start. Pick up pump is working. I have removed the truck fuel system from the supply and feed fuel from a bottle and return to another bottle. Both work fine. I have removed the plunger from the shut off valve. Cracked the lines at the injector and have no fuel. I removed the optical sensor and cleaned it. Tried to start and it almost started once. Now nothing. Unplugged the optical sensor to put it into limp mode and nothing. I think I have tried everything there is and I am lost. Is there something I am missing or should I resign to the fact that the IP needs replacing. Any suggestions appreciated.

when the issue first occurred there were no codes. I just checked and I got 2. P0251 (IP fuel control) and P0370 (Timing reference). Does the P0251 mean the pump is bad?

Did you verify the PMD is good with another 6.5? I would also suggest you verify your PMD extension cable.

The only sure way to confirm PMD is with a running 6.5. That's why most of us carry a spare and hopefully it's a proven good spare.

I about got frost bite one winter with a new faulty PMD that was bad new just sayin.

Where are you connecting your temporary fuel lines?

Did you check ALL the grounds? Perhaps the accident broke a ground wire off somewhere.

I have tried to find them but the harnesses are hard to trace under the intake manifold. I also think the codes I am now getting are because I unplugged the optical sensor and put it into limp mode

Check the fuel manager. Maybe the filter is clogged. The lines under the ip could be cracking too. Check the fuel inlet fitting. I got the feed the beast fitting. I remember the old fitting has some kind of mechanism inside, i think is a series of screens. Check that. Take it apart, clean it out. If you're getting fuel to the pump its either bad pump or bad pmd, or pmd related. Pmds still go bad. Poor design. Im relocated to the grille and they still go bad. I have a bunch of bad pmds floating around my garage. They suck
