Depends where the bad wires are. If it's bad right at the IP pigtail, you definitely need to remove the intake, or you gonna have to have some fingers made out of cooked spaghetti to get in there.

After reading it carefully, yes if the bad connection is on the IP harness, you need to remove the intake.

The IP harness is available.
You can check with Leroy Diesel.
It used to come when buying a new Stanadyne Grey PMD but for some reason most seller did not include it and sell it separately.
