Off road break new wheels and tires

Went off Roading in the Azusa Canyon ohv area with the 6.5 burb. She did great really really impressed considering 100% stock suspension. Buuut then I got into the creek bed and blew out rear tires on some really sharp rocks. Well had no choice but to drive her out in 4low dragging the rear flat tires..... Got her home and went for it with 285/75/16 from big O tires. Also since I destroyed my two rear wheels mounted up my alcoas I had been holding onto. Love the way these tires look and they were a good deal for Chinese tires. I would normally get bfg a/t I have ran them on every truck I've ever had. I actuall had bfg on it now and they really really did pathetic this time around. 35k miles they are worn down to 4/32 so I'm gonna see how these cheap tires hold up. They have great reviews online and we're a fair price.

I'd take anything that's made from China with a pinch of salt.
Cheap China tires is known for much longer braking distances, thread that lasts shorter than regular threads and the rubber may or may not come off the tire since China likes to re-mold older tires that's like 10-15+ years old.

If reviews of the tires show good feedback, I might use them, but I would turn up my butt-o-meter to 11 feeling for issues...

How much weight was needed to balance them?

I have a set of those wheels on my K2500... I like the look... I like my 17’s better...

I believe that 285 tires are too wide for the PYO wheels. 265 is max for that rim width with most tires.

I agree with you.
Firstly, these supposed "Alcoa" wheels are nothing but OEM RPO PYO rims.
Being PYO rims, the have width of 6.5". I provided a snapshot here of the stock size tire (245) that came on them, and the size stated in the post above (285).
I wonder why these tire manufacturers even bother to list rim width ranges?
