4" Straight pipe exhaust. How does it sound in cab?

I'm looking to pick up the diamondeye 4" turbo back kit with muffler "delete" straight pipe. Just curious for those who have a 4" straight pipe if it's too loud and annoying in cab? I don't mind a little loud, but not looking for annoying loud.

Also curious what mufflers if any you'd recommend? I'd rather not have one for restriction, but if it's awful annoying in cab I may think about it.

Also, Has anyone tried an aero turbine muffler?
Thanks for any info!

The drone produced by the straight pipe kit can be annoying to passengers..
The Diamond Eye kit with muffler reduces that drone.

The DE muffler is a straight through muffler and causes little if any restriction. Much cheaper to buy the kit with the muffler than to buy the muffler separate. Lots of threads on here about exhaust and different mufflers.

Its not bad with no muffler, has a nice deep sound to it, but will drone a bit if you care about that. The DE muffler works very well with no drone.

Aeroturbine mufflers work great, my TDI has one but if you want no drone, find one with the resonator but they aren't being made anymore so hard to find. The Jone's versions aren't even close to the original design.

I think just going to a 4" adds some noise and drone. It seems like 75% of the 4" mufflers out there are a straight through design so performance should not be an issue. There are some 4" mufflers that are advertised as quiet but they are very expensive and very large.

Also if you have a van or suburban its a lot different inside than a pickup.

This. Depends on what you have which you did not mention in original post.

I have the Areo Turbine muffler with resonator. I like it. It is a well made straight thru design. Will add power and lower EGT. Nice and quiet at idle and highway cruise. No drone. Sounds good when you mash the skinny pedal. My wife who does not like loud annoying exhaust has never complained about my truck being too noisy.
They are not called Areo turbine anymore. Look for them under areoexhaust.com. They bought the patent from Areo turbine and still make them the same way. The one for a 4" pipe with resonator is 4040XL 132.00 on the Areo site.

My" Muffler" straight thru and it does little at highway speeds. There is a definite drone in the cab. I don't drive it that much so I don't care but trying to talk on phone at highway speed is a bit of a chore
