Steering shaft

Hey guys,

Need to replace the rag joint in my 1996 2500 Burb. Will any shaft from this body style work? I'm looking to buy a scrap one and use my Lares 205 new rag joint to put on the scrap yard shaft so I can just swap them out. I've got someone who has a 1998 1500 series V8 shaft, I figured that GM would be cheap and just use the same shaft. Anyone have any idea?

Thanks,
Adam

Not sure, You could ditch the rag and go to a aftermarket knuckle, I do this on builds at work, but I can't tell ya exactly witch one to get right off. Lokar makes them for nearly every thing...

I have a 98 gasser 1500 that died which is why I bought my 2000 k3500. I have not seen ant difference in the columns. My 2000 had a busted emergency flasher and the 98 swapped over fine(controls the wipers and cruise too). The plastic shrouding swapped over too. I am pulling the lock cyls and ignition cyl too.

Should be the same.
