HX40W-II turbo

Well guys, here we are. I promised in another thread I was going to test a HX40W-II.

As you may know, as this has been made public in another thread, I do resell ***s.

But as I said, I am mature enough to be honest and feel I can do my test and report honestely. I must also say that Dennis doesn't monitor me and does not ask for anything, nor he exerted any kind of pressure on me or asked for anything.

I think this has to be said... and that being said, let's go for it.

Here are the first pics I took from the HX40W-II once installed on the manifold :

DSC07699.JPG DSC07703.JPG DSC07700.JPG

DSC07702.JPG

As you can see, it does match almost fine as being a T3 flange. The turbo won't be installed on this truck, we put it here just to try it and think about how to build the exhaust elbow, see if oil feed and drain will match, etc...

The guinea pig truck will be available in about 2 more weeks

The compressor housing will have to be trimmed, the end of the upper intake too, but should not be a big issue.

You can see also that the compressor housing and upper intake are well aligned, which will ease the matching.

This thread will be slow, as I have to find time and tools to build things, see how this can match and so..., I will try to do at the best

Thanks for sharing.

Keep us posted on the progress of this build, and try to share all the details that it takes to install it.

That's sweet that you didn't even have to raise the intake manifold.

I had to raise mine a 1/2" before I turned it around for the intercooler.

What is that next to the reciever dryer, and what's with the candy orange paint?

Yes, with this EMUSA HX40, compressor housing match almost fine with upper intake. we will have to trim each of them so as to gain about 1"~1.5" and it will be fine.

No need to raise

You only need to trim the turbo vband attachment off.

You only need 1/2" clearance for expansion and contraction.

I wouldn't trim the manifold at all it's not neccasary.

I found that using a 3" weld in flange, like this one on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/Holset-HY-35...item20be453035 worked out very well for clearance with the Hx35 that I put in mine.

I know that this one is for the Hx35 and I'm not really sure if it is the same for the Hx40wii. The fabrication work was fairly simple for the elbow although my install went a little awry due to weather and a bunch of tools breaking at once.

As for the intake, if you have a hacked up intake off an (A) team turbo as I did it should fit without a problem. All I had to use was two hump hose couplers and a connector as shown.

Or if you have a stock intake I believe you have trim very little as subclatter showed for his.

This is getting very interesting. Are you trying to make this into and sell it as a complete bolt-on kit? If it is and the price is reasonable, I'll be interested in it.

I don't know about anyone else but I am not in the market of selling, I think this thread is for informational purposes only and how easy or hard it is to install a Holset series HXxx turbo.

I'm actually referring to the OP as from his first thread that he's looking into building something up with this turbo.

Since he resell ***, why he couldn't develop this kit and sell it?
