Smoke on cold start-up

My '96 Suburban has 271,000+ mi on the clock, got it 1 year ago with 267.000+ mi and I don't know much of its history as the po was the 2nd owner at least.
My issue is cold start smoking, When very cold it will run rough and blow blueish white smoke for up to 1 min. Then it will smooth out and the smoke ends. Help.

Worn valve guides or seals leaking oil into the cylinders overnite and clearing it out on the first start of the day methinks. ~FH

Dribbling injectors could also be a cause with that many miles and no idea how old the injectors are along with lower compression..

A good set of plugs and a slightly longer glow time/afterglow will go a long way. Sometimes the 6.5 will start, but combust poorly until chamber temps get high enough to support complete combustion.

With my revised glow timing (ECM programming) and Quick Heat plugs (much better than stock or anything else I have tested) we can start an 18:1 engine cleanly in most any condition.

x2 on JK and also the squirts. The only thing I'll add is it is more normal to see smoke and a little harder starting on 94-95 OBD1 trucks atleast any I have owned and I know a few others complained of it as well.
