Truck will not accelerate past 80mph, why not?

Few days ago I swapped out my stock turbo for a turbo from the 6.2 banks kit. Power increase was noticable. Has been running great untill yesterday. I decided to see how quickly the truck could accelerate, pulled hard and fast all the way to 80mph and that was it, no more acceleration at all just hung there with peddle to the floor. Any suggestions about what this might be? I think I'm having pmd issues but truck usually starts and runs smooth.

rpm? cooling temp?

I know my 1999 chassis cab will hit a wall till it warms up, then the computer will allow higher fuel rates.

What boost were you achieveing?
The ecm will defuel the engine when IAT's get too high IIRC,and that seems to be reported around the 75mph mark.

hmmm mine does not, mine kinda stops at 95 IIRC lol, but that was before i put on the exhaust and cross over pipe, and took the snorkel out too. thats not on the speedo its on a gps. so mine may go faster now but im not really up for finding out with my turbo being the way it is.

idk, i have a 93 so idk if that means anything either, his has a comp that controls just about everything, mine doesnt do whole lot. since his is a 96 just like yos its obd2 mine isnt anything. so that probably has a lot to do with it so you very well could be correct on that.

I belive RPMs were between 2 and 3 thousand. Temp was at normal and the truck was plenty warmed up.

I have no idea how much boost I'm making because I have no boost gauge installed yet. From what i read This turbo is said to run a max of 10psi.

I've had the truck just under 100 mph before the turbo install, not a common practice.

Check engine light is on and has been on, my only reasoning for that could be due to me removing the factory vacuum system.

Ill try to get a boost gauge installed in the next few days along with some my test runs.

Thanks for the input.

You also need to keep the wastegate solenoid hooked up electrically, even if it's not doing anything. If the ECM doesn't "see" it there, it'll freak out. The ECM still has to think it's controlling something.
