I picked up a F code lower intake manifold for my 93 K1500 with the 97 engine from kijiji. The engine always had EGR but now Im converting it to the non EGR manifold and making my own custom top plenum back to the turbo.Im also doing the same thing with my 96 truck.I picked up some green silicone elbows and some intercooler style clamps to keep everything nice and snug.

More welding.

Didn't expect this much crud in the bend. Was very sunny outside so camera didnt want to co-operate. I forgot to take a picture when the weldng was complete, so imagine the most immaculate welding lines you've ever seen.

That’s a common place for dirt and salt to hold up so it often gets trapped there.I like using a garden hose and flushing out the area every few weeks to keep it somewhat clean.I also like drilling a extra hole in those areas to allow drainage more effectively.

New tires

Put over 70k on some Michelin LTX A/T2s...well, on 3 of them. One of the punked out about 5k earlier and was replaced with a used tire til now.

Been sittin on a set of Firestone Transforce HTs that I only paid $80 for some time ago, with the plan being to just buy the other pair new when the time came. Just my luck they have become obsolete and replaced with HT2s (which I do like much better). The only thing I dont like about the new ones, is that they dont match the ones I already had!

New Tires

Put a new set of rubber on the rig the other day. Replaced a worn out set of Michelin LTX.

Today I went ahead and put a F code lower intake on my 93 K1500 with the 97 engine that had EGR originally. It turned out okay.I made my own top section with a 2 bolt flange and silicone elbows/clamps I got from eBay.I made the top plate from some 3/16 steel.I also bought some 2.5” exhaust pipe but it needs a slight bend in it so when it leaves the turbo and slides into the green elbow it’ll be at the proper angle.I could rotate the elbow level with the turbo but it would then cause the elbow on the 2 bolt flange to be kinked a little so I want to avoid that.Anyway here are some pictures for you guys to see.I also plan to do the same thing with my 96 K1500 that has EGR.
