Found a bad review of a Turbo Master

I am thinking of buying a Turbo Master from Heath. I have read great reviews on this site. But, I have emailed a number of individuals who are versed in the 6.5L TD. I explained the TM and that it is being sold by Heath Diesel. I recieved this reply and would like to see what those on this site think. Partly because I have never read a bad review of the TM on this site. BTW, I did call Heath and spoke with Todd regarding the Turbo Master. He did seem very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions without hesitation.

Here is the reply with a few meaningless sentences deleted:

"Hi,

That gadget you mention is a scam product. I refuse to sell crap only designed to lighten your wallet. They should only be sold at the county fair next to the guy selling snake oil. He preys on the little knowledge of diesels out there.

The only purpose of raising boost is to allow more fuel to be burned. Unless you add fuel along with boost NOTHING happens, you just add air, and hp may actually DROP. And the only way to add fuel to a 95 is with a chip, and a chip ALSO raises boost in proportion. So even if that gadget actually worked, there is never a need for one, ever."

One thing I hate about the web,,,,,,,,, no matter what good/bad reviews you find, there is the exact opposite review on the next page. It drives me nuts!

Who'd you get that review from? the way its written seems to be something that a guy we call "Steaksauce" would write. He's an idiot and a total scam artist just to let you know.

Hmm, was said person you asked named Walt? And does he own a company called "SS Diesel Supply?" If so, just remember, he's the one that says intercoolers don't do anything for our trucks. Not to mention his famous FSD Heat Sync.

Well I have one on my truck and I made one for the Sub. I could tell the diffrence on my truck (granted I have the boost turned up to about 12lbs max). The sub I noticed less diffrence but I also only have the boost at about 7lbs max but I will say it has driven like it has a chip or the pump turned up or something since I got it so thats a little diffrent. Over all I noticed a diffrence for the better on both trucks, once I get my 5th wheel this spring then I'm sure Ill notice a big diffrence on my truck. From my understanding on the way the stock wastegate is setup from the factory you will notice the biggest diffrence if you haul alot of weight when a constant boost pressure is needed.

x2 My first thought while reading that. Walt would be lucky if he knew 1/2 of what Bill has forgotten. Leo

That old saying suits this. Bill's forgotten more than Walt will ever know.

In a way, the 2nd paragraph is correct. The best way to use TM together with a reflash.

Somebody added the first paragraph and the last sentence on the 2nd paragraph.

Believe what you want and read it yourself in the FAQ and study it.
For me, I have to investigate it myself and study it instead of just listening to hear say.

FYI, I don't have TM nor that I endorse the product.

By the way, can you tell us where the bad review comes from. If it has a phone number it will be better.

I consider a "scam product" a product that advertises certain attributes, and when correctly installed does not perform as advertised.

I installed the Turbo Master and noticed the truck's power was a lot more "smooth" in how it was delivered, and much more peppy off the line. Good quality stainless hardware with it as well, big plus for me.

I'm not trying to hang anyone out to dry...... I am a bit ignorant on this subject. I'm trying to cover all of my bases before spending $. A review like his causes me to ask a few more questions before I buy anything. I am trying to address the turbo spooling up and pausing, then repeating this cycle continually on the freeway.... Not under acceleration--- the turbo spools evenly and continually. The issue is at cruising speed on the freeway, under no load. Todd at Heath said the TM will correct the problem. Anyone agree/disagree? Thanks.
