6.2L Barn Find 2.0

Good morning all. I posted a few month back about getting my hands on an 82 red block. My plan was to freshen that one up and swap it into my 86 M1009 that is burning coolant. You can see how that one goes in my other thread.

Fast forward to this past weekend and I got an email from the ad I still had posted on CL. Guy said he had an 82 that he pulled from a Blazer about 10 years ago that has been taking up space in his shed. Went out Saturday to take a look at it and turns out he pulled the entire drive train. As you can see from the pic he actually cut the frame off and left that with the engine too.

Talked with him for a while and he claims that he had the heads replaced already because they cracked and burnt coolant. Also said that he had the trans rebuilt with a new TC about 20 years ago. Didn't have receipts for any of that work so not entirely sure if I believe him.

So got down to the negotiating stage and I ask what he wants for the entire setup. My jaw dropped when he said $150! I didn't even try to haggle with him at that point. Loaded it up and brought it home. Got it on the engine stand last night and will be tearing into this one now. I feel the diesel gods smiled on me.

Not a bad deal! Thats the proper price for an unknown 6.2. I paid $50 bucks for my last unknown. It's in my truck right now making lots of blow by but running
