Good work Jerr. How's the needle bearing in the back of the crank?

Alright. Everything's come to a screeching halt. I had the cam sprocket bolt in my hand.

And then I didn't. How do you lose something you only had in your hand for 30 seconds?

Urg. I have another one on the old motor but I need to pull the front cover off to get it and, well, I don't feel like it today.

Needle bearing? Are there any needle bearing on a 6.2 except in the the tranny and transfer case?

Speaking of, rotating the crank now that everything is tightened down is a lot of work. I expected it to be tighter but this is significantly harder than before. Normal?

Juanfo is asking bout the pilot bearing, some aftermarket or repair versions for a damaged input shaft use a needle bearing instead of a oilite bushing.

My vote, oilite bushing, all day, every day unless the input shaft is damaged....

The rotating stiffness .... IDK what to tell ya ... maybe dryish cylinders ....??

Glow plugs out? Could be excess oil that's found its way past the rings into the combustion chamber.
