31/64 is to small, plus you need some fudge factor room too.

Why not half inch? Smack dab in the middle of 17/32 and 31/64? Also much easier to find....

That actually seems like a good compromise between fitting and leaving support in the flange.

Got a fair amount done today. All holes are drilled on the passenger side. Driver side, I got all the rough cutting done as well.

Nww, I just need drill the holes and grind everything to size on the driver side then final clean up filing and polishing.

Then, I can pull out the motor

Almost finished with the passenger side. Getting the clearance for the oil pan is a PITA.

I feel like I am cutting the front end down to the bone but it is still rubbing. It isn't easy to tell exactly where it is interfering.

I also wasn't expecting to have to round the back end but that didn't require anything drastic.
