Question: wire size to IP Fuel Shutoff

Forgive my ignorance, but I tried searching. Is the pink power wire supposed to be 12 gauge or 10 gauge stock? I plan on doing a size up from stock.

Truck is 1985 GMC K10, getting a 6.5 turbo with DB2 pump.

Thanks

Honestly, don't know why it needs a wire that heavy, its just powering a tiny solenoid. Just seems to be a left over from a gasser HEI wire.
