Holy Moly that's a lot of snow... Surprised that the roof doesn't collapse under all that weight.

long over-due update, after robbing many, many parts from this truck, it is starting to turn the corner to come back together, we bought a rolling chassis 1998 3500HD yesterday, and have begun planning to swap the whole body from the crewcab onto the chassis of the HD to profit from the heavier frame and running gear.... truck is coming today, will post pics as time allows....J&J...

here are a couple shots of the 1998 3500HD donor....... as you can see, the engine was swapped sometime during its life with a goodwrench engine, one thing i seen right away that is somewhat interesting is that the goodwrench does not have "GM" stamped on the drivers-side valve-cover, does this mean it could possibly be a navistar engine? took off the intake this week after work, but it had a rats nest and lots of crappola in the valley, and the diamond for navistar would be up under the IP, and have not got around to pulling it yet, so time will tell........J&J

looking forward to owning a truck with 4 wheel disc brakes, and, for those who do not know this; the 3500hd came stock with the stronger 4l85E, which had helical cut gears, and rear tranny mounted emergency brake hub....

When we get a little further on, we will take some measures and pics.....will have an idea then as to how one could be adapted to a GMT-400 chassis....got a little further on, dash pulled, steering freed up and the wiring out of the frame. Just took our measure, the rear diff will need to come forward 19". Some frame modding, drilling and re-bolting are due up.....J&J.

finally got around to pulling off the IP to verify the 6.5l engine in the 3500HD, the pump was a blue tag 5521 which was new in 2004, and the engine is indeed a navistar 6.5l, after scrubbing the crap in the valley under the pump i found the diamond logo, so, a 4l85E, and a 2004 navistar block 6.5l with low miles( truck was never certified for the road after 2008) for $400.00......

getting organized here to pull the engine and test run it on our starting stand, i will grab a couple pics today of the engine valley as well..... stay tuned.......J&J
