Big gray button yes. I have to use a tool to push it in. Pull the black plastic thingy toward the front of the rig.

Drive and adjust, now I can get enough speed to get across the highway at work to go home without having to drive through the median about a 1/2 mile in the wrong direction.

I got it and it seems to shift at about 15 mph and 28ish mph. It also seems to actually accelerate... after I adjusted, over adjusted, and adjusted it back. It does downshift (now) when I hit the pedal down, but only for about 1/2 to 3/4 of pedal travel, then it shifts back up... and bogs down again. Do I still not have it in the 'sweet' spot, or is that as good as an idiot (me) is gonna get it?

Just keep adjusting it till you get it "fine" tuned a liitle higher shift is better than lower. This cable is what sets the pressure in the unit and in most case's is what cause's these 700 to burn up.

sometimes a click or two on the cable will not raise the shift points much but will make the unit work and last way better .

I have set many of these 700's over the years and "fine" tuning that cable can make or break the unit. Take your time and move the cable out one click at a time till you find that sweet spot

Tcc?

Could the TCC (torque converter clutch) cause the bogging down in 2nd? maybe a TPS throttle position "switch/sensor" adjustment would help?

good point diaric that would affect it big time

Lock up on the diesel trans should only lock-up in 3rd and 4th. Now if the p o had a gasser built for it then yes it could and will lock up in 2nd !!!!

With your left foot, lightly press on the brake after it shifts in to 2nd. Just far to turn your brake lights on(not to far as to apply the brakes ) and see if that helps with the bogg

Only other way is to drop the pan and look to see if there are two or three pressure switch's in the valve body . Diesel use only two.

Since I need to replace the ATF still (just running behind on repairs) I will try and get a pic, and hopefully you guys can see what your talking about, cause I have no idea what the pressure switches look like...

I had to actually put a small nut and bolt on the end of the part that hooks to the nub on the IP, i set it about 1/2 inch from the tip then adjusted the cable from there.
