I have a complete 6.5 turbo set-up off of a 6.5l and plan on putting it onto my 6.2l engine!

My question is I have found some 2.5" corssover pipe for a 6.5 as well as the 3" downpipe for a 6.5 and I was wodneirng if they will work on my 1991 6.2 4x4?? I am pretty sure that they will as I am unaware of any changes in the frame in the early 90's when they made the 6.5

Just want to make sure before I order anything__________--

thanks in advance

if your truck is a new body style pick up, everything fits.

if its old body style blazer, sub or 1 ton, then modification is needed

that crossover wont fit on the driveside manifold. the 6.2 manifolds are 2" and the 6.5 ones are 2.5". i had to weld a piece of 2.5" over top of my 2" crossover. im sure you could flare a piece of 2" and put it inside the 2.5" crossover and weld it up that way.

Actually the NBS 6.2s used the same DS exhaust manifold as the 6.5s so it should fit just fine. (Assuming his is a NBS 91)

I've trying to solve this exact problem. One possibility is putting in some body lift to add some additional clearance. I've also considered the possibility of getting an aftermarket 3" downpipe (like what SS diesel has) and cutting it just above the frame, then using 3" flexible exhaust tubing to route inside the frame (with the body lift clearance added) then attach it to end of the downpipe with a 3" to 4" expansion, then going 4" from there. I'm concerned about the strength and temp handling abilities of the flexible exhaust, but i've been told they use the stuff all day long on turbo diesel semis (obviously, bigger than 3") with no problems. Another person i talked to was concerned about "turbulence" in the flexible tube, but i'm not sure that would be any worse than kinking and denting up a stock downpipe to squeeze in.

sepentine started out on 88. like said, if its newer body style, the frame rails are wider and all the turbo stuff fits

its 1988 or newer on the half ton trucks and 1992? and newer on the subs and blazers

Everything will fit fine if you have a NBS truck, like mine (it should be, if it is a a serpentine)

IMO the LH manifold has to be from a 6.5 TD to work with RH 6.5TD turbo mount manifold/cross over pipe. So first 6.5 truck built with Turbo can be the donor. I question if a stock 6.5TD OEM downpipe will fit the earlier frame / engine combo, 82/87 C/K, 88/91 R/V.
