This may be a dumb question, but when's the last time you replaced your air filter? P0087 can't be a multitude of things.
A boost leak - from the boots or boost tubes that have been rubbed through could also be causing the problem.
I did read one thread where the guy put in the race valve but was still getting returns when he did the bottle test.
Did you get a hold of anything to look at rates or pressures yet?

Air filter gets replaced once a year. This problem has been going on for a few years. Nothing new.
