P0088 code after FASS 165 install

Have an 07.5 LMM, with egr delete, pcv reroute, straight exhaust (no dpf), and fuel rail plug.

Had p0087 code pop on two separate occasions when hauling, so decided to install a lift pump. This past Friday night, installed a FASS Titanium Signature Series 165 pump. Now I’ve gotten a P0088 code a few times. Not consistently, and when it did pop it was while idling or during deceleration (coasting to a stop light). The last trip was about 45 minutes with both city and highway driving and the code never popped once during that trip.

Found a few fittings need to be tightened a little, but no dripping leaks. Just damp. No other obvious issues.

Don’t know if any adjustability on pump, appears to not be any regulator based on research online. But... ?

What’s goin on here? Anyone else had this issue after lift pump install?

What pressure you running on the fass.
Unplug the Fass and see if your code goes away. Fuel pressure coming out of the Fass might be too high.

Contact fass. I have the titanium classic 165 and no p088. The spring in the return output regulates pressure. They can send you a different spring to adjust if needed.

Update:

Took truck to my local diesel mechanic (who I also purchased the FASS through). He found that the pump was creating 30psi of pressure. After contacting FASS they indicated the only way that was possible was if there was a kink/restriction in the return.

(See below pictures I took of the return line as I had it installed prior to taking to the mechanic. Tell me if you see any kink/restrictions...)

So my mechanic disconnected the return line (during which he said he found a slight kink in the line, not totally restricting flow but enough to cause the issue), rerouted it a different way and reconnected the line.

He says everything seems to be good to go now. Hope so

Don’t see any kinks there. Question on the new filter design. Do they hang down enough to see them beside the truck or not? I’ve got the new filters but haven’t installed yet.

Apparently there was a slight twist in the hose. I still can’t tell. Even the mechanic said he couldn’t really tell til he disconnected the hose.

I have it installed to where you cannot see the filters at all from the side. I used the second bed-bolt back instead of the first one. The mounting bracket is visible in the wheel-well, and if you look at a steep enough (forward) angle thru the wheel-well you can just see a bit of the pump.

12.

He advised FASS stated during the troubleshooting that this particular pump comes preset at 12 psi. And after re-installing the return hose he reported the pressure was in fact at 12.
