2006 lbz duramax no start. Cp3 failure??

I'm new to diesel place and I have an issue on my truck and haven't been able to find anything about my trucks issue.

Before I state what happened to my truck my mods are edge juice with attitude programmer, 4in straight pipe, fass 150 lift pump, and ppe fuel rail relief valve. Truck also has 190,000 miles

My truck was running at 700 rpm at idle and I noticed that when I have the brake applied and I tried to give it throttle that it wouldn't get above 1000rpm. No matter which setting on the programmer it still did the same thing. My truck would not miss at idle and would drive fine other than from a dead stop.

Last night I shut the engine off and went back later to try and start it and it ran for about 10 seconds then sputtered and killed.

Filter was changed less than 3,000 miles ago

I then primed the fuel system and tried to start it back and nothing. I checked for pressure from the fass pump and coming out of the fuel filter and the pressure is good.

I then cracked open the fuel rail relief valve and there was no fuel in it at all. Which leads me to believe it's an issue with the cp3.

The psi of the cp3 while trying to start it was at about 143 psi.

The truck is still not able to start and I'm unsure of what it could be.

Sounds like a fuel pressure issue definitely. Either CP3 is not making pressure, or the fuel is basically free flowing out somewhere. Pull the fuel return line and see if its going back to the tank. I have read on here that it takes a minimum of 1700 psi to get fuel through the injectors and start the engine.

I used a little bit of starter fluid in the intake and got it started and it's running on it's own now. But I still have the issue of not being able to get over 1000rpm from a stop and it still idles at 700 rpm

...and after you removed the Edge and tried to start it, what happened?

Tried looking for an air leak in the fuel system first?

No air leaks and when I took it off it didn't change but it's running and driving now just took some starter fluid. But the truck isn't idling normal and getting off the line normal.

Will your edge monitor commanded and actual fuel pressure? If yes, then see what it is commanding vs what you are actually getting.

#1 will it go over 1000rpm in park
#2 do you have any codes
#3 be extremely cautious with starting fluid.
#4 after you got it running, did you shut it off and restart it without either?

#1 yes it will
#2 glow plug #2 and #4 only on certain days or under wot
#3 i got someone to tell me the right way to do it
#4 yes and it starts perfectly fine now

As to looking at the rail pressure I have no gauge and my programmer won't do it. My buddy has a handheld that can look at the rail pressure but won't be able to use it for a week.

Don't know what handheld your buddy has, but you need to be able to see both COMMANDED and ACTUAL fuel pressure. There are two steps to worry about. First, what pressure is the ECM asking for. Second, is the CP3 reaching that pressure.

I'll have to bring my truck to a shop after work one day to get them to look at the rail pressure.

My truck just went to 220degrees on the transmission in 60degree weather so it's going to be parked until Wednesday or whenever I get a shop to look at it.

Is there anyway a converter would cause all these problems or something in the transmission.
