Latest Glow Plug Failure Victim

YEP P0672 Code

Truck is at Dealer getting 8 new glow plugs and will be ready this afternoon. Service Manager said they were seeing quite a few of these in the 2006 trucks -he didn't elaborate much on specifics. Not sure if they will try to collect the $100 or not at this point but the 2006 Warranty Book is clear 5/50,000 Federal Emissions Warranty then 5/100k Duramax Engine Warranty.

Mine is going in tommorow to have all 8 done, same code, cyl #2 plug. Had to argue with my service writer to get them to warranty it, and then to get them to do all 8. This forum was a great help to get this covered.

Just had mine fixed. P0676- #6 glow plug. He replaced it no charge, said the warranty covered it.

I asked him if he'd been seeing others like it, he said yeah but only one random plug on every truck so far, and no recurring problems after just replacing one. I guess we'll see from now on though.

It seems like time to start a poll and see just how many real cases are reported and at that type of chart we could all see just how many are a problem opposed to how many aren't. I think it's still a low count issue and could rise into a worse situation if it's tracked this will show over a set amount of time the poll is done. There are alot of these LBZ trucks running without issues so what's the opinion of LBZ owners of this idea?

If not for this forum my dealer would not have done all eight glow plugs for the hundred dollar deductable. He said he had never heard of this, but after checking said I was right.

What kind of mileage on the truck? Are you located in a California Emissions state or Fed Emissions State? Might be able to get the a 100 bones back....

Mine lost 1 at just over 50k and they replaced all 8 but, did whack me for the $100.

I have 69k on mine, 07 LBZ..

He told me it was covered under the 5yr/100k warranty with no deductible.
Said something about the 07's not having a deductible? I wasn't gonna argue

Replace #8 at 135k or so, #1 at 138k. Not a big deal, IMO.

REPLACED ALL 8 87000 MILES SAID THEY WOULD COVER @ 100.00 DEDUCTABLE BUT DIDN'T WANT TO LAY UP MY TRUCK FOR THE DAY PLUSE HAVE TO GET SOMEONE TO PICK ME UP AND THEN GET SOMEONE TO TAKE ME BACK, SO I DID THEM MYSELF 165.00 PARTS 2hrs WITH GREASING TRUCK AND ROTATE TIRES. VERY EASY JOB IMO!:D
