EGR blocker plate in emissions inspection state?

I'm wondering if anyone living in emissions inspections states, like NJ, has done the EGR blocking place and passed inspection?

Thanks,
Matt

NJ ONLY DOES SAFTY INSP . NO EMISSIONS ON DIESEL. ONLY VISUAL FOR MISSING CAT, OR OTHER EQUIPMENT. NOW I THINK THEY ARE DROPPING MECHANIALS ON ALL VEHICLES END OF AUGUST AND ONLY DOING EMISSIONS ON GAS VEHICLES. I DON'T KNOW HOW THIS WILL AFFECT DIESEL TRUCKS,ANY ONE WITH ANY INFO ON THIS PLEASE CHIME IN SO WE CAN KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON. I HOPE THIS MEANS NO MORE INSPECTIONS FOR DIESELS UNDER 10,000 GROSS WT!

Is there a link anywhere that states this? I just had my 06 LBZ in for inspection, I'm not sure whether they did an emissions inspection or not...

Do you have a blocker on your truck?

California will be looking for the plates, the bureaucrats read these forums too! They will do a complete emission visual inspection, OBD code read and "smoke" test.

Well, it does seem that for now anyway, my truck (and all other diesel 2500HD's) are exempt from any inspection in NJ As long as they have passenger and not commercial plates on them.

I emailed the MVC inspection site, and here's the response I got:

"Good afternoon Matt,

Effective August 1, 2010 passenger vehicles will only be required to
receive and must pass an emissions inspection, diesel powered passenger
vehicles with a GVWR between 8,501-9,999 lbs will not require an
inspection.

Please note, it is the responsibility of the motorist to ensure the
vehicle is free from mechanical defects and is well-maintained at all
times.

Please advise if we may be of any further assistance.

Thank you and have a nice day."

Good looking out that is the only reason I have kept Indiana plates on my truck in the 7 years I've lived in Jersey I didnt want to deal with all the inspection crap. Guess it will make it easy when my girl gets a truck.
