the exhaust manifold on the 49-state models does not have the provision for the EGR pipe. All the intake manifolds are the same however, hence the blocker plate.

Please please please post the part numbers for #9 and #11/ I have been searching for seems like 3 hours for part numbers for those two items with no luck on the few online GM parts wharehouses' websites.

I cant wait to toss that crap.

More space, less weight, and I can convert the EGR output sensor reading into a 0-5v input for HPTuners so that I can log something all the time straight from the tuning software. Not sure what yet, but later if I end up wanting to log say...fuel pressure.. I can send that into the pcm, masquerading as EGR...but just change the label to "Fuel Pressure" or whatever in the software. Pretty slick

Anyways...howd it end up for ya? Any other mods since then on the 8.1?

thanks bro for posting good info. Well, you forgot the part#..but u got me halfway there! lol

9 is the normal EGR gasket. You can use RTV if you want as it is the intake manifold side it is blocking off.
12559976 for the block off plate.

Normal EGR gasket p/n 12580673. And yes 12559976 for the plate. Total cost was like under $25 shipped.

Not too bad. About an hour total with tapping and installing a plug in the old manifold, removing the egr valve assembly, and fabricating a plate and reinstalling it.
