Trans slip or?

I have a 2004 ext cab 4x4 Silverado with a utility body. I just bought it two weeks ago from a company Fleet maintained with all records. So it’s been running great, I’ve been driving it daily to and from work. Yesterday I had to get out into traffic from a stop and when I put it to the floor it took off slowly but was revving high. I let off and it changed to 2nd. It was either stuck in first or slipping I guess but I was just looking for insight to see if anyone else has had this experience. No lights came on the dash, just no power and high revs from a stop if your looking to take off fast.

You might try reading codes from the TCM. You'll need to use a better code reader than a basic odbii code reader.

I figured out the issue. It wasn't the transmission. Basically the air filter was completely blocked causing defueling issue it seems. I have replaced the air filter, turbo inlet, oil change, coolant change and she is right as rain. Thanks!
