TCM ID

Hello all. Faily new to the Diesel world and I am looking for a little help. I have looked up all the symptoms for a faulty TCM and I am looking to purchase a salvage TCM to verify the TCM is bad.
Truck is a 2009 GMC 2500HD with the 6.6. It has the Allison transmission.
My TCM ID is #24256861.
My question is, what other TCM id’s can be used for proper functionality? Will another TCM 2009-2016 work? Differences if any?
I tried looking and just couldn’t find it. Sorry all. Any help would be appreciated.

2006-2008 24256864 MODULE, Transmission Control Module (W/O CALIBRATION)
2009-2015 24256861 MODULE, Transmission Control Module (W/O CALIBRATION) New $257.79
2016 24276411 MODULE, Transmission Control Module (W/O CALIBRATION)
2017-2019 24279973 MODULE, Transmission Control Module (W/O CALIBRATION)

Only 24256861 MODULE, TCM will work. If new it needs (CALIBRATION) if used it’s plug and play.

Anything out of a 2007i-2010 will plug and play.

Look at the Allison identifier on the TCM. It's laser etched above the serial number. Not on the sticker. Look for an A40, A50 or T14. Any are acceptable for your truck. However, depending on the year of the vehicle they come out of they may need to be reprogrammed. A40s were very limited in 2009 trucks and there was no service release of the software so that would be the hardest one to put MY09 software in. But 2008 software will work fine in your truck, you'd just have a hard time getting a dealer to program it.

If it comes out of a 2011 or newer, do not run the software that is in it. The main modulation solenoid changed in 2011 and the software is not compatible. it will plug in and start, but you can cause clutch damage if you try and drive it.

What are your symptoms? We may be able to save you the trouble.
