Testing carpet padding

At the Home Depot, my wife wanted pricing on new carpet, and the salesperson suggested that we try out the different densities of carpet padding, with the middle choice being manufactured from ground up shoes.

i stick my face on the carpet, run my hands trough it.
when your kids/ grandkids are playing on it you want to know what they are feeling,
after all said and done i would pay the difference for the better 'feel'.
And knees are more expensive than padding.
I bought my wife the good stuff for rooms, halls, and talked her out of it for high traffic areas.
Your wife, your life
