Carl Edwards retirement

What do you all think about Carl Edwards retirement? I don't have a hard time with his logic for retirement. I guess what surprised me was that I didn't see this coming. I think it will be fun to watch Daniel Suarez take over. Let's see how good this kid really is.

I was surprised, but everyone has their own agenda.

I was surprised also and I could be off on my theory on him leaving Nascar, but here goes. Carl was not my favorite driver, but I sure enjoyed watching him race, he is a dang good driver. I truly believe that if he had stuck with it he would have won a Championship in a year or so.

Carl is into being fit, staying healthy and enjoying life. I think he looked at the big picture and realized that he did not want to get seriously injured with a concussion, therefore maybe affecting his long term health. Carl has more money than he could ever spend, so why take the risk of injuring himself. I think he saw what had happened to Dale Junior and that really got him to thinking more about it. If I am not mistaken Carl's wife is a doctor, not sure in which field, all I know she could be a shrink. Could she have had input into him making the decision, who knows. We may never know what triggered his retirement.

I think we will see if this was a serious life style change or a contract issue come 2018

If I had a net worth of $50 million, and was under 40 years of age, you can bet I would quit risking MY life every week, and enjoy the next 50 years of retirement.

I liked "cousin Carl" but he was never my favorite driver. I was shocked when he did this. I believe it was planned for a few months with his wife. Rumors were he wanted to go into politics, but he says No! Maybe he will buy out Jack Rousch, and become an owner like Tony Stewart. The deal with junior probably weighed on him more than others.
