Junkyard ECM

I have access to a ecm for my truck out of a one year newer (2008)wrecked truck for $100. Is that a good deal? Is it worth it? I want to tune another one and save my original one.

They are usually $200 and up online so yeah I'd get it.

TCM and BCM will still datalog what parameters are going to the engine and what torque input is going to the trans, so a tune can still be detected even if you swap ECM's. As well as the milage and regen counts wouldn't add up. The advantage would be though you could send the spare off to be tuned and then swap it out so you wouldn't have any down time.

How yeah been doing, was just thinking about you. Just got back from eating at REMINGTON's and had to go OLD PASCO ROAD to get home do to the roadwork on 54.

I'll be glad when that road mess is fixed.... my thought were the same, no down time while the new ecm is off to get tuned.
