alright so keep my head down and do as ordered, gonna be kinda hard to keep my head out of sight with my red hair and skin hahahaha but i'll do what i can. so the gist that i'm gettin is: do as ordered, try not to stick out, learn to eat fast (thats gonna be a challange with my tiny mouth), bring as little as possible, and let the insults go in one ear and out the other (no problem there haha). thanks yall, anything else? comments, suggestions, etc...
If Air Force boot camp is anything like Navy boot camp you won't have to worry about your hair......they buzz it off in the first half hour

All though you are probably in pretty good shape, once the fun begins you will figure out that no, maybe you could have done more. Just get ready for the mental stuff and don't take anything too personal. Just hang in there and you will do just fine.

that's ridiculously fast running man. if that doesn't get you ready for basic, i don't know what will. especially at 6200 ft.

Lackland is a good base, i was stationed there for 3 years but don't expect to see much of it while you're in basic. I went in July 02 and the humidity was miserable but you should be good in march. You should be getting issued the new ABU's instead of the old BDU's which are much much nicer. You can expect to lose you hair on day 2 follwed by about 30 seconds to eat meals and lots of sleep deprivation. It will gradually get better as the weeks go by. You already know that boot camp has been increased from 6 to 8 weeks to allow for combat training, they are trying to follow the army's training to help with the army taskings that we now get for deployments. Best thing I can tell you is to try to blend in and don't draw attention to yourself and you should be fine. Good Luck. If you have any specific questions, you can shoot me a PM.

I always wondered why they even called AF Bootcamp........a bootcamp.......sounded more like a day camp from the things I was told. The lobster statement just confirmed it even more......

Hated it then, but the sad thing is, to this day, I still love SOS

Red, all joking and joshing you aside. Good luck friend. Best advise I took and didn't take was, "Keep your chine up, your nose down & your *** covered" the rest will take care of itself.
Again, good luck and thank you for your willingness to serve your country. My prayers will be with you.
BTW...... that offer is still open if you get down to Houston anytime soon.

sounds good man. no official plans for march 10th-17th yet but i'll make sure to let you know when i'm in houston (will be during that week).

kinda looking foreward to it, motivate me to accomplish goals again cause i've been apathetic the last year so i'm sure it will be good for me.
