Looking into the snow performance water/meth injection kits. Their is a few different kits they have and dont know which one is best for me. I do some heavy towing but most just 50/50 city highway driving empty. Does anyone have any experience with these kits on the LML? If so did you have any noticible power difference? or better fuel mileage? Also I'm buying a airdog lift pump soon, do you need to buy the sump kit with the lift pump or can I just buy the lift pump? thanks
One potential problem I spotted is the observation that water/meth injection results in lower exhaust gas temperatures.
In the LML and LMM engines, the emissions system requires exhaust gas temperatures to be high enough to allow the DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) and the SCR (Selective Catalytic Reducer) to do their jobs of burning off soot and reducing NOX.
When exhaust gas temperatures are too low for regeneration or proper catalytic action, more fuel is injected into the exhaust to raise the temperature. This means that it is possible you could end up using even more fuel than you do now, to counter the cooling effects from the water/meth injection. On top of that, you'll also have to pay for the methanol mix.
Ok, so you've accepted that you have no warranty, but it may still be worth trying to find ANY other independent assessment of the meth/water system. May not be wise to rely on the claims coming from a single source.

Funny.....I checked with my dealership and told them the mods I had done. The SERVICE MANAGER said, "Hey, we are all hot rodders too. We here all love how your truck runs, so you won't have any problems from us on your warranty work. The only thing that might be questioned is if you blow the motor from large-power tunes or inject something crazy like nitrous."
They didn't have a problem at ALL that I had swapped out the exhaust.
My warranty is up now, but the FUNNY thing is - - I didn't need it anyway.

There is lot of good reading in this section. May not be all on the LML though. My set up with 50/50 meth increases power nicely but I have not noticed any other benifits at all. After spending to date over $1,300.00 trying to keep this thing running ( pump, 2 soleniods, ups shipping to canada, etc... ) I've had to except that it will never pay for itself even if it somehow started getting me better mileage. A 5 year old with a calculator can figure out that you'll never get your money back in mileage gains( if you get any gains at all ). And if your paying for methanol or worse "boost Juice" - no comment. You may get lucky and with straight water have some EGT reduction though. Some people are having good things to say about it, but for myself and others are wishing they would not have bothered at all.
All of my post on this subject are from a guy who really wanted this to work and gave it a fair run. Good luck.
I have a W/M setup on my lly. The power gains are obvious, especially if you blend your own mix. A 50/50 mix provides a nice increase in power, however in my observations does not lower egts any appreciable amount, and if anything increases them under cruising, low boost conditions. I have sprayed continuously for over 400 miles and noticed no increase in fuel mileage, at least not enough to rule out different driving habits. 1mpg or less gain spraying approximately 50-100ml/min at cruise. Straight water will decrease egts, however the lower your temps are to start, the less of a drop you will see. I.e. if you are stock, hitting 1100f, you won't see much more than 100f drop at wot with straight water, but with a tune that hits 1350f, you will see a much greater drop. Throw some meth in the mix and it won't drop as much.
My opinion, for pure power it is great, especially on am lml that has limited tuning opportunities. But don't expect huge mpg gains or egt drops.
I Like that Phil, good Take on it, I noticed the same thing as well in a week of using it, Power curve is great on 50/50 however I did see a small drop in egt, Nothing to brag about on WOT runs 100-150 at tops.
